COVID-19

To keep our customers and workers safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, and because SARs-CoV-2 can be spread by the asymptomatic and presymptomatic, HeatGuy, Llc. has adopted a modified version of what the medical community calls “standard precautions.” Standard precautions assume that all people and objects are possible vectors of infectious disease. Therefore, our employees will wear PPE including eye protection, respirators or face masks, and gloves (when possible) at all job sites in order to protect customers and themselves.

Further interventions to mitigate the spread of SARs-CoV-2 may include screening questions at scheduling and again during pre-appointment reminder call(s).  If anyone in a household has respiratory symptoms, our techs will assess the risk based on the work to be performed, current guidelines on preventing the spread of SARS-CoV-2, and their personal likelihood of severe illness from COVID-19 (which varies between employees). Their right to refuse a task due to unsafe conditions is upheld in the WA state Labor and Industry laws, which HeatGuy, Llc. staunchly supports.

If a tech determines a job site is too high risk for him/her or that the job needs higher grade PPE (N100 respirator, Tyvek suit, thicker gloves, shoe coverings) we will provide those PPE and/or send a different tech as soon as possible.  Please be aware that a household’s development of respiratory illness may result in rescheduling.

That being said, HeatGuy, Llc. is aware that heat stress, pollution, and high pollen counts may be dangerous for some, especially those with certain illnesses and/or diseases, including COVID-19.  As a result, emergency no-cooling for vulnerable individuals will be prioritized as usual.

HeatGuy, Llc. is grateful for your understanding during these challenging times.
